NYSCC Sponsored Award Recognizes Innovations in Ingredients and Formulation
(New York, NY, April 2019)—CEW has announced the finalists of Supplier Award: Ingredients and Formulation, part of its prestigious Beauty Awards. This new award category, sponsored New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC), recognizes the role that ingredients, formulation and new technology plays in successful product launches.
Mirroring the Academy Awards Science and Technical Achievement awards, the winner of the CEW Supplier Award will be announced in advance at the 40th Annual Suppliers’ Day during its Awards Night event on Tuesday, May 7th at Stage 48. The Supplier Award winner will also be acknowledged at the CEW Beauty Awards luncheon on May 17th along with reveal of the other “Best in Beauty” category winners.
The 2019 CEW Supplier Award; Ingredients and Formulation finalists are:

- Kobo Products Inc. – 4 in 1 Multi-Purpose Sunscreen Cream
- The Dow Chemical Company – AgeCap™ Smooth Cosmetic Ingredient
The finalist were selected from 40 submissions that were reviewed and voted upon by a curated panel of judges that included leading beauty and personal care brands including members of the NYSCC Scientific Advisory Committee. The judges were: Laura Garratt, SHISEIDO/bareminerals; Eileen Kim, Chanel; Theresa Phamduy, L’Oreal; Mike Wong, EOS Products; and Tao Zheng, Edgewell Personal Care.
In addition to the winner of the CEW Supplier Award being announced at the Awards Night event during the NYSCC Suppliers’ Day, May 7-8, at the Javits Center, the finalists will also have their innovative entries on display in the Innovations Hub on the exhibit floor during the trade show and conference. NYSCC Suppliers’ Day will also have educational sessions on Fragrance: The Invisible Art, Microbiome: Inside Out Beauty, Innovation & Compliance, Discover Sustainability, The World of Chemistry, and Digital Age of Beauty, along with the pre-show SCC CEP Courses and the ICMAD FDA Cosmetics Regulation Workshop on Thursday, May 9th.
Specialty areas on the expanded exhibit floor include the Future Chemists Workshop, Innovation Hub & Theater with the CEW Supplier’s Award finalists speaking and showcasing their nominated ingredients and formulations, Presentation Theater as well as a 40 Year Retrospective from NYSCC past chairs, members, brands, and suppliers.
